Will Burns is set to continue his motor racing career with Ginetta, after committing to a season in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup with 2014 championship winning team, HHC Motorsport.
Burns joined the Ginetta family in 2012 as part of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge, finishing inside the top five in his maiden year, and claiming the vice-championship a year later whilst dovetailing with a season in the Ginetta G50 Cup.
Graduating into the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup for 2014, Burns was a force to be reckoned with in the Ginetta G55, enjoying four podium finishes and crossing the line inside the top six in over half of the races.
The 24 year old from Weston-Super-Mare said;“I am looking forward to returning to the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, I had an incredible time in 2014 and really found my groove towards the latter half of the season so hope I can carry that through to challenge for the title this year, and who better to do it with than the current title holders, HHC Motorsport.”
Charlie Kemp, Commercial Director at HHC Motorsport said;“It’s fantastic for Will to come back to the team as we helped him early in his development and ran him in the GT5 Challenge in 2012, sadly due to other championship commitments we were subsequently not able to run him. We have of course kept a close eye on him and he impressed in his first year of G55 last year. It’s great to be working with him again and if he can continue to develop at the rate he has been, the goal of consistent podium finishes is on the cards, and this is ultimately what realises championships.”
Broadcast live on ITV4, the opening rounds of the BRDC qualifying Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup get underway at Brands Hatch on Sat 4/Sun 5 April, and will feature both Pro and Am classes.
