Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup race winner Jamie Orton is to make a welcome return to the British Touring Car Championship support series for 2015, after announcing his plans to contest the title with HHC Motorsport.
Having kicked off the 2014 season with a second place at Brands Hatch, Orton is hoping to build upon his prior success in the championship, with the former race winner having the 2015 Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup title well and truly within his sights.
Former Caterham Champion Orton, who has raced in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup since 2012 and joined HHC mid-way through 2014 said; “I love my racing and I believe in my ability, but things hadn’t quite gone my way in Ginetta’s prior to joining the team. When I moved to HHC, something just clicked, so I’ve made space in the trophy cabinet for 2015… the space that was there for 2014!”
HHC Motorsport, who ran Charlie Robertson to victory in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup in 2014 have a strong following in UK motorsport, and Charlie Kemp, Commercial Director said of Orton’s return; "It’s great to have Jamie back in our G55 team for 2015, he joined us half way through 2014 and fitted into the fabric of the team straight away. We are a great believer in his ability and going into our second year in the Supercup we could not wish for a more experienced driver to continue to develop the car. Jamie has always shown pace and this year we aim to make sure he is able to show this consistently enough to mount a genuine challenge for the always highly competitive title."
Broadcast live on ITV4, the opening rounds of the BRDC qualifying Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup get underway at Brands Hatch on Sat 4/Sun 5 April, and will feature both Pro and Am classes.
